Breaking: FG Shifts Population Census to May

This was announced to reporters on Wednesday at the conclusion of the Federal Executive Council’s weekly meeting, which was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari. Lai Mohammed is the minister of information and culture.
The decision to change the date, according to the Minister, was made necessary by the March 18 rescheduling of the governor’s election.
He also revealed that the Council had allocated N2.8 billion to buy software for the National Population Commission (NPC) to utilize in conducting the census.
He stated that the National Population Commission had requested software in a document in order to conduct the census in May of this year. I think they can’t start the census as planned because of the rescheduled elections.
“They sought Council’s approval for a contract to acquire software for the census at the cost of N2.8 billion”.
