Ondo State’s Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has passed away.

Akeredolu reportedly passed away in Lagos on Wednesday.

The 67-year-old governor of Ondo passed away.

It was discovered that because they were unable to transport him overseas, State House physicians cared for him until his passing.

“Akeredolu passed away in Lagos,” according to multiple source.

“Last week, they were searching for dialysis machines to send to his covert location in Lagos.”

Akeredolu had health problems in June following her trip overseas for medical care. He went back to Nigeria in September, but he didn’t leave Oyo State’s capital, Ibadan.

He took yet another medical absence on Wednesday, December 13, and sent an official notification to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, formally handing over control to her. Later, Aiyedatiwa assumed full acting governor responsibilities.

Public outcry resulted from Akeredolu’s attempt to manage Oyo State from Ibadan, the capital city, after his return to Nigeria in September.

Betty, Akeredolu’s wife, said on July 9 that the planned celebration of her 70th birthday would not be taking place.

Following inquiries about the intentions to hold a fanfare in spite of her husband’s poor health, the first lady of Ondo announced the events’ suspension via Twitter posts.

Betty wrote, “Hello Family and Friends,” in a statement posted on her X handle. This is to let you know that, due to uncontrollable circumstances, all planned events for my 70th birthday have been postponed until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience this development may have caused.

However, rest confident that I will return to a lavish celebration. I appreciate your understanding. I’m still Arabinrin, also known as Ada Owere I,” she continued.
