Christmas Eve Bloody Clash Leaves Five Dead In Urhobo Community

27th December, Because of the violence that broke out in the Urhobo town of Ekpan, Delta State, hours before the start of the world-wide Christian holiday, several families there began this year’s Christmas with crying, wailing, and gnashing of teeth.
According to reports, two rival youth gangs clashed in the Delta State hamlet of Ekpan on Christmas Eve, causing mayhem that resulted in five fatalities by the time the boom of their firearms and the clatter of other lethal weapons subsided.
According to an eyewitness, other victims who were hurt in the deadly incident were rushed to the Warri General Hospital for treatment, according to Newscrescent, which also stated that five persons died as a result of the conflict between rival youth gangs in the Ekpan area late on December 24, 2022.
Although the reason for the altercation was not immediately clear, it was learned that both groups belonged to different young leadership organizations in the Ekpan neighborhood. According to reports, five residents died in the gunfight. A small-time vendor who had been selling goods to the young people attending an all-night party on Christmas eve is one of the victims.
However, it was reported that only two people were verified deceased in the event from Bright Edafe, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and spokesman for the Delta State Police Command, who confirmed the occurrence on Sunday.
