Top presidential candidates condemn Lagos lawyer killing, seek Police reforms
Both Peter Obi, the candidate for the Labour Party, and Bola Tinubu, the candidate for the All Progressives Congress, have denounced the shooting death of Omobolanle Raheem, a lawyer from Lagos State, on Sunday in the Ajah region of the state.
On Christmas Day, Omobolanle was returning from a restaurant with some family members when the cop, identified as ASP Drambi Vandi, opened fire on her car as she attempted to make a U-turn under the Ajah Bridge. This information was provided exclusively to Metro.
The presidential contenders denounced Raheem’s murder and urged for police reform on their Twitter sites in order to help the men of the Nigerian Police Force meet worldwide best practices and global policing standards.
“I share the pain and frustration of Nigerians over the needless assassination of Mrs. Ombolanle Raheem by a police officer on Christmas Day in Lagos,” the APC candidate stated in his post.
