FAKE NEWS ALERT: Tinubu didn’t write Bode George any letter, says APC campaign
Bola Tinubu, the incoming president, allegedly never sent a letter to Bode George, according to Bayo Onanuga, the APC presidential campaign council’s director of media.
On social media, a letter purportedly written by Tinubu to George, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, has been making the rounds.
In the allegedly written letter, the president-elect begged the PDP leader not to leave the nation if he won the presidency.
“I hope you find it within yourself to stay and be a part of Nigeria’s positive future,” the letter in circulation reads.
Nobody—least of all me—can make you stay here if you decide you do not want to live in the new Nigeria.
Onanuga claimed the letter is a hoax in a statement on Wednesday.
George declared in March 2022 that if Tinubu were to be elected president of Nigeria, he would move to Ghana.
If the aforementioned transpires, the PDP leader has pledged to leave the nation at least five times.
According to the council’s communications director, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the president-elect, has not made any statements regarding Bode George.
