On Monday, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) dismantled a multimillion-naira duplex that was unofficially constructed on plot 226 in Wuse Zone 6.

The Department of Development Control’s Director, Mr. Mukhtar Galadima, informed the public of this.

Galadima claimed that the structure had been illegally built despite numerous warnings, and he added that his team had conducted a thorough investigation to identify the original plot owner in light of the various allegations being made by the parties.

He said an inquiry showed the developer did not own the land, and that’s why we had to take the building down.

When development norms and regulations are broken, the FCT Administration, according to him, will not take the status of any defaulting developers into account.

Galadima stated: “We demolished the duplex because it was erected on someone else’s property without a legal title and approval of the building plan.”

According to him, as stated by NAN, “We allowed the building to reach this stage before demolishing it because we had to follow all proper procedures.”
