INEC orders re-election In 9 polling units in Kogi

Re-election has been mandated by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in nine voting places in Ganaja Village, Ajaokuta Local Government Area, Kogi.

According to Haliru Sule, Kogi INEC’s Chief of Voters Education and Publicity, the development became necessary because planned polls couldn’t take place in those units due to some logistical issues.

The election materials and the officials had already been redistributed to the region early on Sunday morning, according to Mr. Sule, who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria in Lokoja on Sunday.

Due to various logistical issues, we had some difficulty holding the presidential and National Assembly elections at Ganaja Village in the Ajaokuta Local Government on Saturday.

We attempted to see if it could be held the day before, but we were unable, so we had to move it to Sunday.

The election will take place this Sunday, February 26, according to the approval of the State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Dr. Hale Longpet.

We don’t want any individuals to be denied the right to vote in this crucial election, he said.

However, he urged the residents of Ganaja Village to participate in the election in large numbers and use their right to vote without interruption.
