Inferno Engulfs Classrooms at Kwara School, destroy properties
A devastating fire ripped through Grace International School in Ilorin, Kwara State, on Sunday evening. The blaze, which erupted around 6:06 pm, consumed nine out of the fourteen classrooms, leaving them in ruins and causing millions of naira in damages.
Located on Awolowo Street, the school witnessed firefighters battling the inferno upon arrival. While they managed to extinguish the flames, the damage was extensive.
According to Hassan Adekunle, spokesperson for the Kwara State Fire Service, an investigation revealed the fire originated from deliberately set undergrowth that tragically spread to the school building. This incident highlights the potential dangers of such irresponsible actions and the devastating consequences they can have.
The loss of these classrooms disrupts the learning environment for countless students and underscores the need for heightened awareness and stricter measures to prevent such occurrences in the future.
