Six new executive directors have been nominated to the Nigerian Ports Authority and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency by President Bola Tinubu on Thursday.

The Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy oversees both organizations.

This was revealed in a statement released on Thursday under the heading “President Tinubu appoints new executive directors in agencies under the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy,” by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Advisor to the President on Media and Publicity.

Tinubu named Ibrahim Umar as Executive Director, Engineering and Technical Services; Olalekan Badmus as Executive Director, Marine and Operations; and Vivian Edet as Executive Director, Finance and Administration at the NPA.

He appointed Mr. Chudi Offodile Executive Director, Finance and Administration; Jibril Abba Executive Director, Maritime Labour and Cabotage Services; and Fatai Adeyemi Executive Director, Operations at NIMASA.

“The new appointees will expeditiously and efficiently execute on their collective mandate to create the conditions required to significantly raise the contribution of the Marine and Blue Economy sector to the nation’s GDP,” Ngelale claims the President firmly believed when he approved the appointments.

In line with the Renewed Hope Agenda, Tinubu anticipates that the new appointees will “transform the Nigerian economy into a labor-intensive and inclusive one that creates new opportunity for all Nigerians, under the guidance of the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola.”
