Minister seeks youths involvement in energy transition

Jamila Bio-Ibrahim, the Minister of Youths, stated that youth participation in the energy transition strategy is crucial.

In an effort to promote a greener future, she also emphasized the importance of giving young people access to sufficient information and opportunity.

As per the statement our correspondent obtained in Abuja on Monday, Bio-Ibrahim delivered remarks at the Youth Volt Africa launch, which was arranged by Green Energy Mission Africa at the Conference of Parties’ 28 in the United Arab Emirates.

“We are committed to empowering African youths, and the launch of the YouthVoltAfrica project marks a significant milestone in that regard,” she stated.

By providing them with chances and knowledge, we are not only creating a more environmentally friendly future but also raising a generation of leaders prepared to take on the issues of our day.

“YouthVoltAfrica is a ray of hope for a sustainable and prosperous Africa, and youth involvement in the transition agenda is crucial.”

The minister went on, “Youth Volt Africa is a revolutionary program created to give African youth the resources, expertise, and abilities they need to fully participate in Africa’s energy transition.

The young will participate in renewable energy, climate resilience, and sustainable resource management through this project, which will be crucial in helping Africa meet its ambitious energy transition targets and deal with the ongoing problem of energy poverty.

Dr. Salisu Dahiru, the Director-General of the National Climate Change Council, was also highlighted in the statement, highlighting the importance of “creating innovative and collaborative efforts” in addressing climate change. The YouthVoltAfrica project empowers young people to actively participate in sustainable development, which is in line with our objectives at the National Climate Change Council.

This program not only addresses energy poverty but also emphasizes how critical youth leadership is to ensuring that Africa has a resilient and low-carbon future. We are dedicated to assisting programs that promote environmental stewardship and constructive change.
