The Labour Party’s victory in Lagos State has been denied by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The integrity of the process is seriously threatened, according to Tunji Shelle, a former state party chair who also served as the party’s representative at the INEC collation center in the state’s Yaba neighborhood.

As the results were collated on Monday, he declared, “I don’t accept the outcome on behalf of my party.

It’s not that we didn’t win the election, but rather that the process has been tainted.

In the nation’s commercial center, Peter Obi of the Labour Party received the most votes for president.

Bola Tinubu of the APC received 572,606 votes, barely ahead of Mr. Obi’s 582,454 total.

The PDP’s Atiku Abubakar received 75,750 votes.

According to him, certain of INEC’s staff members, both ad hoc and main, have the necessary training to carry out credible, free, and fair elections.
I believe that the ad-hoc crew was not properly trained, which ultimately had an impact on the productivity. The use of BVAS is not yet appropriate. We have the results disclosed despite the usage being compromised, improper uploading of many results, and improper uploading of a small number of results.

“That is inappropriate and ludicrous.”

The BVAS “is supposed to enhance the electoral process, but it feels like it has taken us back,” Mr. Shelle continued.

The majority of the BVAS results that could have been used were not because the uploading process was not done correctly.

The APC party agent who was present at the center, Foaud Oki, contrasted this by describing LP’s victory as “democracy at work.” “The people have spoken,” he continued.

The latest development, according to him, is a request “for a review of our process.”

Also, he voiced optimism for the 11 March governorship election.
