Reps Urge Review of Oronsaye Report Before Implementation

The Nigerian House of Representatives has urged President Bola Tinubu to “comprehensively review” the Oronsaye Report before implementing its recommendations. In 2011, the Goodluck Jonathan administration established a panel led by Stephen Oronsaye to assess and address inefficiencies within the Nigerian civil service.
The 2012 report, spanning 800 pages, proposed merging or abolishing 102 government agencies and parastatals to streamline operations and reduce government spending.
Despite its recommendations, the report remained unimplemented for over a decade.

Conduct a comprehensive review of the Oronsaye Report alongside other relevant reports like the Goni Aji Report, Jonathan administration’s white paper, Ama Pepple white paper, and Ebele Okeke white paper.
