Continue to pray for Nigeria, Sanwo-Olu urges clergymen

In advance of the country’s general elections on February 25 and March 11, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has asked religious leaders, in particular the Prelate and clergymen of the Methodist Church Nigeria, to consistently pray for Nigeria and Lagos State as a nation.

The prayers and advice of the religious leaders are particularly required right now, according to Sanwo-Olu, who issued the statement while speaking to the Prelate, Methodist Church of Nigeria, His Eminence Oliver Abah, and an entourage at Lagos House Marina during a courtesy call.

Additionally, he asked Nigerians to act in a style and manner that would maintain the nation’s peace and security.

Sanwo-Olu sent his congratulations to Abah on becoming the Prelate of the Methodist Church of Nigeria and urged continued cooperation, partnership, and the relationship between the church and the government.

“It’s the start of a new year, and we anticipate that a lot will happen in our nation throughout the year, including the upcoming elections,” he said. Therefore, there is never a better time to keep up your prayers for this nation and state in order to make sure that the desires of the people are carried out.

We don’t have any other place, and everyone of us has a responsibility to use our space wisely as community members and leaders so that, in the end, we will still have a nation, a state, and people to govern because we are in a position of authority, and God will continue to bless all of us. Your prayers and advice are greatly needed right now.

Earlier, Abah praised Sanwo-Olu for making enormous progress in several important areas in Lagos State, including the Lagos Blue Line Rail, which President Muhammadu Buhari is slated to inaugurate later this month.
