Examination offenders risk three-year jail term – Oyo govt
According to the Oyo State government, anyone found guilty of cheating on a test there faces a three-year prison sentence.
This was declared by the government on Tuesday.
The Examination Malpractice Act will begin to be enforced, according to the state government.
The state government has implemented administrative measures to combat examination malpractice in the state, according to Pastor Akinade Alamu, Executive Chairman of the Oyo State Post-Primary Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), who spoke on Tuesday in Ibadan.
The act, he continued, mandates a three-year prison sentence, a fine of N100,000, or both, depending on who is found guilty of violating exam ethics.
He declared that the war against examination malpractice is being won by the present administration in the state.
According to him: “The act stipulates a three-year jail term or a fine of N100,000 or both for anyone caught and found guilty.
When we came on board, we decided that this problem should be nipped in the bud, and we started sanctioning erring teachers and principals.
“So we have done it for two to three years now, suspending teachers that were involved, and we want you to understand that examination malpractice is criminal
