Dear Kwara youth,

Happy National Youth day as I hope this message finds us in good health and in high spirits.

I am super-delighted with the special event being put together by the State Government to mark the day in our collective honour.

This is no doubt an excellent initiative to celebrate the vibrant energy and potential we possess as young people. Youth Day is not just a day of festivities and merriment. It is an occasion to acknowledge our pivotal role in building our future together as an individual and as a State.

I therefore enjoin us all to bring to the fore, those divine energy, enthusiasm, and fresh perspectives essential for the progress and development of Kwara State under the administration of Mallam AbduRahman Abdulrazaq, the Executive Governor.

This year’s celebrations also present us the opportunity to reflect on our journey thus far with a view to identifying those areas that requires our collective attention which ultimately brings us that top-level success. Certainly, it is through this platform and the environment of this nature that we can collectively discover innovative solutions and create a path towards a bright and prosperous future.

Dr. Abolore Alabi extends his heartfelt appreciation to the government ofKwara state government in continuing to envision and working towards sustainable policies, projects and programmes in favour of the Youth constituency. These are evident in some of the iconic projects being executed by the State Government like the Ilorin Innovation Hub, Ilorin Visual Arts Centre amongst others.

At the centre of my interest is the way and manner the theme of this year’s programme has been coined. It got to marries or the bridge the gap that exists in the art of creativity and governance with a particular focus on the youths and how we excel in all fronts.

Dr. Afees Abolore ALABI also agrees with some school of thoughts on a number of factors that may impede on theme of the programme of today. These are but may not be limited to Lack of experience; Limited resources:Resistance to change:Lack of representation and risk aversion amongst others

He further tasks the government to employ some strategies that will ameliorate those identified challenges once they are integrated into the system of governance. For instance fostering partnerships and Collaboration between the youth and the government: Education and capacity-building: Establishing innovation funds: Setting up dedicated funds or grants; Creation of mentorship programs: Emphasizing impact and inclusivity: Building of evidence and showcase success stories just as done with the sets of resource persons that have been invited to today’s programme.

Finally, I encourage us all as youth to continue to be patient with the government of Mall. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq as His Excellency continued to support the future of all the youths including me with his laudable programmes, policies, projects and all for our physical, social, psychological and economic well-being now and in the future.

Congratulations once again to all of us as we are being built for our great nation to also be built under the renewed hope agenda of Mr. President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria- Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR).

God bless the Kwara youths!

God bless Kwara State!! and

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Afees Abolore ALABI (PhD; FNIVS; RSV; MFRCN)

Immediate past Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Kwara state
