Betta Edu, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, was called before the House of Representatives on Tuesday.

The House requests a status report from the Minister about the 15 million homes covered by the Federal Government’s conditional cash transfer program, which is led by President Bola Tinubu.

The summons follows a motion made in the green chamber on Tuesday that is of critical public concern.

The House questioned the lack of transparency in the initiative and voiced concerns about how it was handled.

The minister is expected to provide specifics regarding the data collection and funding allocation.

Remembers that the President had introduced the 15 million household Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer in October.

The minister of humanitarian affairs revealed that 62 million Nigerians are represented by the 15 million households.

She stated that the beneficiaries would get a monthly transfer of N25,000 for three months, totaling N75,000 for each beneficiary.
