The Federal Government has made public the complete list of people and groups funding terrorism in Nigeria.

The Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi’s close supporter Tukur Mamu is on the Federal Government’s list.

Six Bureau De Change, or BDC, operators are also listed.

Remember that nine people and six Bureau De Change operators were among those funding terrorism, according to information previously made public by the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit, or NFIU.

In its report titled, ‘Identification of Persons and Organizations as of March 18, 2024’, the NFIU said the Nigeria Sanctions Committee convened on March 18, 2024, during which certain individuals and entities were identified for sanction due to their ties to terrorism financing.

Following this, former President Muhammadu Buhari’s media assistant, Bashir Ahmad, published a post on X on Monday that said, “The Federal Government has released names and BDCs funding terrorists in Nigeria.” It is our hope that those people will be held accountable for their actions by the appropriate legal authorities.
